WPLOT for Frequency Management with ILG Data
Frequency Management WPLOT2000EX Software

The databases to be imported can be in ILG or HFCC format.
The program enables the user to create a graphical display of scheduling data, thus providing comprehensive information about possible interference problems and band occupations.
This software is free available for professional frequency managers but a small donation would be helpful for Norberts work on this comprehensive software project...
WPLOT - First Steps:
FIRST START:
1.
- extract WPLOT file into e.g. "wplot2000ex" directory
- during installation give the requested password
- it is also helpful to create an ILG directory for the various ILG seasons within this new directory or elsewere

- download the comprehensive ILG SITE LIST (site.txt) here and extract the file site.txt into the WPLOT directory.
If you update automatic via "IMPORT REFERENCE TABLES..." the ILG site list will be overwritten and you will
get some hundred of errors when importing the ILG database !!!
PREPARATION OF WPLOT SOFTWARE
- at first you will see the "Navigation Center"
- update automatic via "IMPORT REFERENCE TABLES..." in the center part
- click now on the top part this software option "Import"
- select "Import local SITE.TXT"
- click on "START DOWNLOAD OF CHECKED ITEMS"
the download is running and at the end click on "OK"
- click again on
"IMPORT REFERENCE TABLES AND NEW ANTENNA DEFINITIONS"
and click the word "File" to open a new menu
- click on "Import ilgsite.par" and verify with "OK"
(now all additional ILG sites were loaded from ILG to
avoid error messages when importing the ILG database)
- click on "EXIT" to restart the software
START OF WPLOT SOFTWARE
- in the "Navigation Center" click on the right the software option "DATA"
and a new window is opening.
On the top right is the selection of "IMPORT HFCC"... "SCAN" and "MAP".
Select on left side from the word SCAN the data bases you want to import,
e.g. ILG.
- choose now for the A16 season "A_16_ILG" tables.
- click on top right "IMPORT ILG(TXT)" and a new window opens.
Here you must click on current ILG database version which should be
available in a folder for ILG files.
ILG data will be imported now and on the bottom of the WPLOT software you
see the status of import.
If everything is ok no error message will displayed.
In the case there is an import error for unknown sites, this means that the
file "ilgsite.par" is not installed (see instruction above)

"MAP AND PROGRAM PARAMETERS" in the centre part.
Here click the button "PROGRAM AND MAP PARAMETERS".
Check for "SNA A" and "SNA B" for markes months for the season you want to analyse, e.g.
A-Season April...October and B-Season November...March.
Leave with "EXIT"

Check on left side if correct e.g. A16 and B 16 seasons are given.
Click on "DATA", red field on right side.
Select data file e.g. ILG for A16 season ILG data will be imported.

Answer for rename with "NO" and follow the next answer to "UPDATE TARGET" also with "NO".
Put in your frequency for investigation in the yellow field on top left side, e.g. 11640.
Below you can chose the range +/- 5 kHz or +/10 kHz.

Give Start and Stop Time in the green field on centre top area.
On the right side you can click ">10kW" to filter out low power transmitters.

Now click in the centre top the grey button "SELECT"
Click the first filed on left side of the line of your transmission for investigation.
Click "SHOW" on right side on top.
You may see a map with a part of the world you are not interested in.
Now click on "MAP (M)" on first line left.
Choose your main target area, e.g. "SEAS" for "South-East Asia".
You can see your signal beam (blue coloured) which is not calculated and only a standard value!
Click the button on the first line on top "Coverage TX".
A list of transmitters sites (using this frequency) will be opened and click the abbreviation of your transmitter site.
The calculation will be made now and it takes some seconds or minutes. During this process the "STOP" sign will be displayed.
Now click on "MAP (M)" on first line left.
Choose your main target area, e.g. "SEAS" for "South-East Asia".
You can see your signal beam (blue coloured) which is not calculated and only a standard value!

Now the calculated signal beam will be display effective for the choosed season.
You can go to any area on this map with your cursor and if you click a small "c" the calculation will be made
for the selected target point. The result is given in dB along with the signal of the other broadcasters using this frequency at the same time.

If you click capital "C" a window opens giving the optimal mhz band for your transmission for this target area point.
If you want to see the CIRAF Zones go to "Overlay" in first line and select "Cirafzones". After "Coverage TX"
and click on your site a new calculation will be made and the map is diplayed with the ciraf target zones.

Data can be changed if you mark the data line.
Click on right side under "CONTROL PANEL" the Botton
"EDIT". Now you can edit data if you want to change power or available antenna types of your site.

To leave this software always go to "File" on first line on left side and choose "Exit" to close all opened databases and accept to save settings
